Spektron System has submitted a Small Business Innovation Research Phase I grant proposal to the NSF for innovations in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics.  Spektron is targeting innovations in machine learning for the prediction of biological activity to incorporate into our proprietary platform for drug discovery/design.  The NSF warmly received our pre-submission proposal and strongly encouraged Spektron’s PI to complete the submission.  Phase I grants provide up to $225,000 to support small businesses involved in commercializing innovative research.  If awarded, Spektron Systems, an Arkansas-based company, can apply for a matching $50,000 from the state of Arkansas through funds managed by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
